Invoices with an alternative payment currency, the extended fireTMS API and other new features

In this article, you will learn about the following improvements and new features in the fireTMS system:

Sales invoices with an alternative payment currency

We have extended the functionality of sales invoices to include the option to specify an alternative payment currency. This option is available when the currency of an invoice line item is the same as the invoice currency, e.g. the line item and the main invoice currency are in euros, or the line item and the invoice currency are in dollars.

In such cases, an additional field labelled Alternative currency appears in the financial data section, where the user can specify a bank account held in a different currency. The system automatically converts the amount due into the currency of the selected account, and information regarding the alternative payment is displayed on the invoice printout.

A payment linked to such an invoice can be marked in either the invoice currency or the alternative currency, and the system automatically suggests the appropriate amount after the payment currency is changed.

Option to print a CMR for external orders

In one of our previous posts, we mentioned the ability to generate a CMR document directly from an order: Ability to print a CMR directly from an order. This feature has now been extended to include external orders as well. This means that a CMR document can be generated for both internal and external orders, without the need to prepare transport documentation manually.

Thanks to this change, users can prepare a full set of documents even faster, regardless of the type of order being processed.

New “ADR Class” filter on load and order lists

We have added the ability to filter load and order lists by ADR class. The new filter allows you to search for records marked with a specific class, e.g. “3”, as well as several classes simultaneously, separated by commas, e.g. “1, 3”.

This improvement makes it easier to quickly find ADR shipments and prepare summaries and reports related to the transport of dangerous goods.

fireTMS API: order details including route points

We have expanded the fireTMS API (documentation) with a new endpoint enabling the retrieval of detailed order information. In addition to basic order data, the API also returns additional operational information, such as the contact person, notes, comments, price, commission, actual kilometres travelled and the order completion date.

Another new feature is the provision of detailed data regarding the route points assigned to the order.

For each point, the API returns, amongst other things, the address, postcode, city, point type, completion date, time range, geographical coordinates and the current status of the point. This makes it easier for integrations to read and process transport data without the need for additional mapping or retrieving information from multiple sources.

This extension enhances the system’s integration capabilities and allows for a more accurate representation of the order fulfilment process in external systems.

Copying own loads

We have added the ability to copy own loads. This function works in the same way as copying standard loads and allows you to quickly create a new load based on an existing one.

Upon selecting the copy option, the system creates a new load with data populated from the copied record. The user can then edit the data before saving, which speeds up work on similar transports and reduces the need to manually enter the same information.

Integrations with GPS systems: DKV Live and Sezam

We have expanded fleet monitoring capabilities with further integrations with GPS systems. Integration with DKV Live enables the automatic retrieval of both the vehicle’s current location and the current odometer reading, which supports mileage analysis and maintenance planning. In turn, integration with the Sezam system provides access to the current location of vehicles, allowing them to be monitored directly in fireTMS.

These new integrations allow for even better control over ongoing shipments and expand the range of GPS systems with which fireTMS can be connected.
